"The government is currently asking for a public discussion on legal recognition of same-sex couples (see Same-sex marriage in Estonia)." -- Never heard about that. As far as I know, there is currently no such discussion. Lebatsnok 19:30, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the "no gay scene elsewhere in Estonia" comment, it is most probably false. Tartu has 100000 inhabitants and it is a noted university city where there live also many foreign students. In one case, a hotel manager there told to his workmates (!) about going to "boys disco" (poisside disko), which may have meant a gay happening.

I currently reside in Tartu, the second largest town of Estonia, and the couple of hundred people attending the monthly gay parties (thrown by Eesti Gei Noored - Estonian Gay Youth, EGN for short) look like a scene to me. Estonia is small, Tallinn and Tartu are but a few hours apart, people know eachother, even if only via the internet, and they come to the clubs in Tallinn and the parties in Tartu from all over the country. And there was that petition for recognizing same-sex partnership to the ministry of justice (or something something) last year. If/when i get the time, i will try to expand this article accordingly.Siidisukk (talk) 07:34, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
