Uh, 1973beijinger, good luck on that one! North Korea protects its stuff very carefully, and I'm even surprised that you got enough information to create an article about the channel, lol! Part of the article states: "only around 40% of North Koreans own a television set," this is completely unsourced; my own personal search on the issue was able turned up this: Televisions: 1,200,000 [76th of 215 nations], Televisions (per capita): 52.3743 per 1,000 people [152nd of 209 nations]

"Typical Day's Broadcasting"[edit]

Interesting to note that 8th October 2006 is the anniversary of the day that Kim Jong-Il took the title of General Secretary of the Worker's Party and thus became official leader of North Korea, hardly a "typical day".

Reception of KCTV outside of the DPRK[edit]

There is now an unofficial LIVE Internet stream for KCTV which is hosted by Chosun.com. Would it be appropriate or inappropriate to include it in the article either as a *< ref >< /ref >* or under External links? TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 23:11, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oddly worded[edit]

Portions of this article are oddly worded to the point of being incomprehensible.

"KCTV was the first live colour television channel to broadcast the New Year's Eve in colour on 31 December 1974". The New Year's Eve what?

"There is another exception, for the emergency events in DPRK at night or daytime, it starts up without any announcers or the Voice of Korea interval signal. The station is still open until that event becomes normal."

"KCTV closes down at 23:00 KST with the last programme (usually news, weather forecast & music video), a next day schedule of listings, shut announcement, a shot of the national flag, fade-out in black screen of slowest pictures runtime and test pattern was broadcast at the end at 23:10 KST."

Broadcast times[edit]

Am I the only one who feels that having the broadcast times listed in hours GMT, in addition to the presently listed Korean Standard Times, would be useful? Just to know (for all IP editors) the article is apparently locked but it actually is not. The silver lock means that IP editing is possible, but that also means that your edit must be accepted by a reviewer. Live streams dead?[edit]

I've tried all the live streams (HTTP, MMS, RTSP) and I can no longer get them. It used to be easy to just copy the URLs into VLC player and play them, but it doesn't work at all any more.
