Disambiguation[edit]

Soi (ซอย) meaning lane or alley is more-or-less disambiguated in the lead, but not similar sounding khao soi = rice + pretty (ข้าวสวย) a Central Thai dialect term for cooked white rice other than sticky rice. Very similar-sounding ข้าวเสวย also means the same thing, br replacing สวย with เสวย to dine, from the Royal Thai Vocabulary called Rachasap (ราชาศัพท์): hence, rice fit for royalty. In Isan, it is called ข้าวเจ้า rice of lords. This is really important the history of rice cultivation in Central Thailand, as well as to sticky rice cultivation predominant in Isan; as opposed to this dish, which is of Northern Thai origin. The relevant information has yet to be incorporated into appropriate articles, so I'll leave it to other editors to decide if disambiguation is needed here now. —Pawyilee (talk) 10:27, 9 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It really looks like it means "street food" (although it doesn't). Kortoso (talk) 17:33, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Structure[edit]

In the lede, we have a "how to" recipe, which should probably appear later, in the body.
