I believe the edits I made to the article in 2014 (plus new information regarding her work on the Avery case) would solve the neutrality and promotional language issue. Bali88 (talk). Please I was convicted of a crime that I never committed also no witness never ever would the state had months of investigation and found no abuse also state witness was turned into a court witness and silence with out having interviews or questions also paramedics found no evidence of a bruise scratch welt nothing yet the judge found me guilty based on original testimony that has no weight please I only ask for information for my appeal attorney that is court appointment because I am incarcerated please just information please I am in the middle of the appeal process I’m asking for a in person oral argument my attorney that represent me originally was not a criminal attorney as he said he was not did he bring evidence that would show repeated false 911 and other witnesses to my defense please just look at my case please I will owe you please I am innocent look at my case

Date of Birth

We should have a source for the Date of Birth. Saying it conforms to the Texas birth records in an edit summary is insufficient. Knope7 (talk) 03:22, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

At the very least, her age is debatable. We seem to be playing tug-of-war over Zellner's birthdate. Rather than doing that, perhaps we should add a section discussing the various reports of her birthdate? Or perhaps the people who believe her birthdare is May 7, 1957 could supply references that are more than a LA Times article? We need to avoid edit warring here. The image of the "Texas birth record" fails as a source for a few reasons. Aside from the fact that it is a heavily redacted image uploaded to an image site, even if it were the original public record, it would fail WP:PRIMARY. I think the dispute over the date of birth indicates it should be removed based on WP:BLPREMOVE. I am going ahead and removing her date of birth. If we get a consensus for the DOB based on reliable sources, it can be added back. Until then, this is a BLP and we need to err on leaving out disputed information. A paragraph in the article explaining the dispute would be original research as none of the sources describe any sort of dispute over her age, they simply list her age.

Agree that we should have a source for any date of birth on this page. There are magazine and newspaper sources for both 1957 and for 1949 years of birth. On ancestry.com and other geneology sites you can get confirmation of 1949 as year of birth if you carry out a search with Ms. Zellner's parents' names and the city of her birth, Midland TX. On her own website, Zellner includes an article (http://www.kathleentzellner.com/blog/kathleen-zellner-the-rescuer) that states "Born May 7, 1957, to Owen Daniel and Winifred Thomas in Midland, Texas". This seems consistent with Zellner claiming a birth year of 1957. However, the Texas Birth Index entry in https://imgur.com/7Fg44qf seems to be in conflict with this in that it shows Owen Daniel and Winifred Thomas of Midland TX giving birth to a daughter Kathleen on May 7, 1949, and that birth year is consistent with ages quoted for her in some earlier articles that editor OldZell listed above. Ms. Zellner would not be the first person to shave a few years off her age. Not sure what should be reported here.Llewkcalbyram (talk) 03:43, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Sorry to say someone switched back to the 1957 birthdate without engaging in discussion here; another editor then removed the birthdate. They did at least cite a source this time, but it is one of the newspaper sources that we already know about and was listed by OldZell previously here in talk. That there is a birthdate dispute is very well documented - perhaps we do need a new section about it?

We seem to have achieved some kind of consensus here in talk to leave the birthdate off the page while it is disputed. I would ask anyone who wishes to specify a birthdate to engage in discussion here so that we can achieve a consensus. Otherwise I fear there will end up being an edit war.
