Katapayadi sankhya as it is known in the Carnatic music literature is only an application of the then popular system of representing numbers. This system was not limited to Carnatic music. It was primarily used by astronomers and mathematicians. It is suggested to merge the Katapayadi sankhya article to the broader concept Katapayadi system due to concept overlap.--n@vneet 04:10, 3 January 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Navneetvk (talkcontribs)

Katapyadi Sanhkya is not used only for calculating the Melakartas in Karnatic Music. I think this should be a separate topic, and linked to Music. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sukesh.nambiar (talkcontribs)
