Neutrality[edit]

Dispute on Neutrality

1.) "Some have described this incident as the 'Hong Kong version of the 911 terrorist attack"

-- Who claims so? Or which journal / tabloid? Is this verifiable? If not, is this only an invented personal attack?

2.) "There is a widespread rumour saying that Lydia Shum, Joyce's mother, is strongly linked to Hong Kong triad society but no firm evidence has been found to provide solid proof on the allegation."

-- Do the rules of Wikipedia allow this kind of "rumour", without any verifiable sources?

-- Can any other Hong Kongers verify how "widespread" this is?

-- Regardless of the authenticity of the claim, why is a statement about Joyce Cheng's mother necessarily related to Joyce Cheng? Why shouldn't it be in Lydia Shum's article but here? Is this statement just a strategic formation to villify Joyce Cheng's integrity? Is this neutral?

Neither of the points above attempt to cite any sources or indicate the nature of these views, according to Wikipedia's guideline on neutrality.

If this cannot be improved, I suggest the above statements should be deleted.

1)This was claimed by various online forums in Hong Kong. However as the incident happened for a long time it may take great efforts to trace the actual source. But there were people making this comparison. This is what has happened. 2)This is a widespread rumour among Hong Kong people that Lydia Shum is related to triad activities and prostitution of local actress and singers. The rumour is widely known in Hong Kong. The statements above could hardly find a sound proof, especially for people overseas. However, this claims is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth that have appeared in Hong Kong. I agree that the second point is more appropriate to be put into Lydia Shum's article rather than putting this into Joyce Cheng's article. However I think it worths mentioning that Joyce CHeng's Slimming effrorts and appearance in Disneyland were so disgusting for Hong Kong people.

Negative[edit]

This is a very negative article on a person who has really little to no significance to anything, perhaps not enough significance to be posted on Wikipedia? I guess the many other people also by the name of Joyce Cheng don't particularly feel happy that typing their names into Wikipedia brings up an article like this. At least I don't. If I someday merit a Wikipedia article, I wonder how that will work. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jcid888 (talkcontribs) 07:14, 19 July 2006
