This article is about John Nisbet of Hardhill, near Newmilns. There was another covenanter rebel from Newmilns named John Nisbet who is usually distinguished as 'the younger'. According to Sime (1830) and Taylor (1887), John Nisbet of Hardhill was executed at Grassmarket, Edinburgh on 4th or 5th December 1685.
