Article needs work...[edit]

I am afraid the article is an example of inappropriate use of sources. First of all, large sections of the article are just superficial rewordings of the referenced articles. Secondly, sources are used without discrimination for appropriateness and accuracy - the highlight is the passage where what is being reported by the source (with somewhat implied doubt) as being said by some person gains fact status (the theory that the word "pop" for carbonated drinks originated in the state). Also, an anecdote of dubious notability (the Nickelodeon show) is reported as fact, and the interpretation seems too straightforward ("storytelling" style of the passage in the source is understood as referencing actual and exact fact - one cannot determine for sure what the children were interested in).

I sure hope this article will be worked upon and more sources will be found to help broaden the coverage of the subject without reporting each and every thing that has been said in the sources. PrinceGloria (talk) 00:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
