Hi John, and thanks for the work on your own article.

Information should be tied to a Reliable Source WP:RS, but certainly on musician articles this can be very hard to do. You cannot prevent people from adding edits that they think are correct (and cannot prevent vandalism), but you can monitor the article regularly and correct incorrect information when it pops up. Tying items to citations often prevents well-meaning editors from changing things based on less-reliable sources such as liner notes on CDs.
