Having recently chatted with Joanna, she noted that she prefers the gender-neutral "actor" to the gendered "actress" as a career descriptor. I recommend that we change the descriptor in both the opening sentence and the infobox. This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered.
I have some WP:COI on this topic (I know Joanna, and more in conflict, I was a friend of her sister Harriet and commercially wrote about her on more than one occasion.) I am suggesting two edits:
As I explained above, Joanna voiced to me the preference for the gender-neutral "actor" over the gendered "actress"; this would apply both to the lede and the infobox (but not, of course, to the name of the award.)
The sentence "Her family also included her older sister Harriet Glickman (1926-2020) who would go on to gain recognition when she helped persuade Charles Schulz to add a black character to his Peanuts strip" is off in a subtle way. Harriet received little attention at the time; the attention came in 2010 (when I wrote about her in the magazine Hogan's Alley and the book The Peanuts Collection) and then came a larger round of attention connected to the promotion of 2015's The Peanuts Movie. Obviously, my COI here is large, and I cannot point to a URL from 1968 showing her not getting recognition, nor am I asking for specific recognition of this in the article, but all I'm suggesting a slight wording change for accuracy that requires none of that: replace "when she helped" with "for having helped", so the time of the recognition is not tied to the time of the persuasion. --Nat Gertler (talk) 16:29, 28 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As long as attention is being paid to this page (may she rest in peace), could someone restore the gender-neutral term "actor" to the first sentence, as Joanna preferred?
