War Service in Boer War[edit]

The DNZB (1940) entry and the Chch Press item on his death do not mention any service in the Boer War Hugo999 (talk) 13:15, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Connolly in the Boer War was not him but JJ Connolly (No 540, 2nd Contingent) who died in 1954 (page 85 of Richard Stowers' "Rough Riders at War" 3rd edn 2004). The 4th edn of Stowers page 111 (2005) has him as John James Connolly - as in Archives Archway for No 540. Re amendment of 26 May 2008. Hugo999 (talk) 12:52, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
