"It was one of the first games to bring the side-scrolling platformer style - common on gaming consoles - to a PC audience" -- not even Commander Keen claims this, and it is probably three times as well-beloved as JJ. Are we to ignore all of Apogee Games just so JJ can brag on this one stupid little accomplishment? It honestly wasn't that revolutionary or important. TheKaje

Fair use rationale for Image:Jazz Jackrabbit titlescreen.screenshot.png[edit]

Image:Jazz Jackrabbit titlescreen.screenshot.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Like Sonic[edit]

The article mentions that the game is similar to Sonic the Hedgehog, but then goes on listing the differences. I think it should be removed because I see no similarities. If you wanna compare it to anything I think it looks more like Super Mario, with the turtles/Koopa's. Robin.lemstra (talk) 06:20, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sonic is a fast-paced game, just like JJR. That's what is similar. Yes, the turtles are like Mario, but the Mario gameplay is less fast. -- Sander (talk) 16:03, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On a similar topic, I'm changing this line because it makes no sense: "However, the game did not manage to reach as much popularity as to become PC's mascot". PC can't have a mascot because it's an open platform.68.9.64.70 (talk) 23:30, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jazz Jackrabbit (video game)Jazz Jackrabbit (1994 video game) — So as to avoid confusion with the 2002 video game of this name.—84.92.117.93 (talk) 21:38, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm neutral about this. The 2002 game is named Jazz Jackrabbit Advance on its page, which is also a redirect, but since the game is officially called just Jazz Jackrabbit, I support either title. -- Sander (talk) 10:23, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for pointing that out, I've updated the text on the page of the 2002 game. The 2002 game was located at "Jazz Jackrabbit Advance" until I proposed it be moved a week or so ago, since that was never the proper name of that game. 84.92.117.93 (talk) 17:56, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Releases and Content[edit]

In the release chronology section, the last CD-ROM release is stated to be for Windows 95. Judging by the platforms listed at the top of the article, the other CD-ROM releases are for DOS, yes? I believe this should be noted by someone who can verify it.

Also, it is unclear in the article whether the last CD-ROM release (the one for Windows 95) does or does not remove the easter egg from the earlier CD-ROM release of the original game.

Finally, is the last CD-ROM release "included" in a physical sense (i.e., bundled) in versions of Jazz Jackrabbit 2, or are the files simply on the JJ2 CD? Perhaps some more details would be helpful here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.14.72.95 (talk) 03:36, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Two more things:

The beginning section describes a "remake named Jazz Jackrabbit Advance." However, the title of the game and the status as a remake are both in conflict with the Game Boy Advance game's article. Which is correct?

Next, the gameplay section says, "with three more episodes added subsequently; see releases section." However, the only episode additional episode listed in the releases section is "Holidaius." There are mentions of bonus levels in some of the other releases: three new levels in the original shareware version, and three Christmasified levels in the 1995 Holiday Hare edition. Are these the mysterious other two "episodes?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.14.72.95 (talk) 15:43, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

Shouldn't there be a "Reception" section for this game? All games have a "Reception" section.Queen of smart alecks 02:33, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
