Untitled[edit]

Jari Litmanen was not in the squads for the 2001 UEFA Cup, English FA Cup and English League Cup, therefore did not receive a winners medal.

For the UEFA European Super Cup and English Charity Shield he managed to make the bench and was an unused sub so he received his medals.

POV[edit]

I like Jari, but this article has some major POV issues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akaces23 (talkcontribs) 02:38, 15 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article is not nearly neutral enough. MG — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.214.191.199 (talk) 12:32, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you could elaborate a little, point out the statements that need revision or removal. - Slow Graffiti 05:29, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Litmanen is a classic playmaker with excellent technique and vision...", "He endeared himself to them with mercurial performances whenever he was given the chance...", "He also played quite a good season in 2002-03", "Unusually big crowds of over 10,000 turned up to matches to see their hero – more often than not just to find out that Litmanen wasn't able to play. All in all, his stint at FC Lahti turned out to be a big disappointment for all parties.", "In a generation that produced playmakers as Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Baggio, Dennis Bergkamp and Luís Figo, he deserves a mention with the best of them, possessing wonderful craft and imagination with the ball at his feet and scoring supreme goals.", "Litmanen is a legend in Amsterdam...". Shall I go on? Unsurprisingly the grammar in most of the sections with POV is below-par. Some serious work needs to be done here. 77.99.47.83 11:50, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's a mistake in the career stats. Jari Litmanen and his team Mypa played in Veikkausliiga not Ykkönen (1st Division) in the year 1992 before moving to the Netherlands. Mypa rose to Veikkausliiga after the 91 season and before Litmanen joined the team. 62.142.72.36 (talk) 09:51, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jari Litmanen's not a current captain of Finnish national team. Sami Hyypiä has been the first-choise captain since autumn 2008. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.214.177.144 (talk) 15:02, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Early career in Finland[edit]

I can't make head nor tail of this bit of text:

After four seasons with Reipas he moved to HJK, Finland's ed MyPa, where he...

The resumé has him at HJK for the whole of 1991, and then at MyPa for the first part of 1992. It looks as though it used to say something sensible where the word 'ed' now is, but I've no idea what, as I don't follow Finnish football. (I used to rate him quite highly when he played for Liverpool; apparently more highly than the Liverpool manager.--Nick Barnett (talk) 15:22, 16 June 2021 (UTC))[reply]

@Nick Barnett: I went through the page edit history and found that this destructive edit from May 2020 went undetected. I've restored the content that was removed. Thanks for bringing this up. :-) Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 07:54, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Syvä-äksy:, you made a bold change, I reverted. Per WP:BRD, you should "not revert again. Instead, begin a discussion with the person who reverted your change." Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 23:26, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
