Curious Implication[edit]

"Chamorros were forced to endure the hardships of the military occupation in a war not caused by them."

This seems to imply that the United States or Americans in general caused the war, rather than the Japanese unilaterally declaring a war of aggression and conquest.

It is plain that the Japanese intended to permanently annex Guam. They banned English, enforced Japanese culture and institutions and re-named the Island 'Great Shrine Island'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LikkerdySplit (talk • contribs) 13:35, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
