request for statement qualification[edit]

"These ships were fast, powerful, and heavily armed with enough firepower to hold their own against any ships built."

That statement requires some qualification; the ships certainly couldn't have fought battleships on equal terms. The statement should probably be "These ships were fast, powerful, and heavily armed with enough firepower to hold their own against any contemporary heavy cruisers built."
