Delimitation of constituencies[edit]

The section on delimitation of constituencies was based on incorrect data. The population figures for the Jammu and Kashmir regions were taken from http://www.mha.nic.in/more3; however, this webpage has erroneously interchanged the figures for the Kashmir Valley and the Jammu Region, as can be easily seen by looking at the full census data available at http://censusindia.gov.in/2011-prov-results/prov_data_products_J&K.html. The Jammu and Kashmir page here also shows this. Using the correct population figures, there is no inequity in the seat allocation between the two regions. The Kashmir Valley actually has 55% of the population, and 53% of the seats in the Assembly; whilst the Jammu Region has 43% of the population, and 43% of the seats.
