Jamie left Citigroup in November 1998. The rumors are that Jamie and Sandy got into a large argument in 1997 over the perceived lack of promotion given by Jamie to Sandy's daughter Jessica M. Bibliowicz. And rumors are that a brawl (completely unrelated to Jessica) occured with another employee (Deryck Maughan) during a dinner dance in 1998. Jamie was asked for resignation on Nov. 1., 1998, by co-CEOs John S. Reed and Sanford I. Weill. In March 2000 he became CEO of Bank One. Observers of the JP Morgan/Bank One merger feel that this is an attempt for Jamie to outdo Sandy, as the combined company will be just behind Citigroup in asset size. - Jerryseinfeld 00:07, 21 Nov 2004 (UTC)

As a sometime witness regarding the inuendo above: the Jamie & Sandy tension built over a year plus period and the Sandy's daughter situation was only a small part of it. There was a shove not a brawl at the dinner dance. The current positive 2008 outcome happened due to good business management and had nothing to do with outdoing Sandy. Loan modification complaint

Jamie I e been working on a loan modification since may of 2008 with wamu now they placed me on a 3 month trail period March April May now I have completed that and they will not review my hardship or give me a chance they want to place me on another 3 month trail period I have never missed one payment my income has dropped 70-80% I am in the real estate industry Title Insurance why not work with the hard working individuals that have never missed one payment? why put a person through so much unnecessary stress.. Why not work with me? I do not want to lose my credit .. but I have a 5 bed/3bath house by myself and cannot afford the high payments but continue to pay anyway.. Now my house value has decreased to the point in which Chase would lose a lot of money instead of working with me.. London Whale

This section is very badly written and is awkwardly separated, repeating information from above without much context. I recommend incorporating a very brief summary into the main career section with a link to the article: 2012 JPMorgan Chase trading loss — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.39.175.131 (talk) 14:27, 20 May 2013 (UTC)
