Proper Title?[edit]

Shouldn't this article be renamed Jakub Mora? The redirect may not be sufficient for the average English reader. Dr. Dan 03:51, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: moved to James Murray (Polish navy). There is consensus that James Murray is the common name in English-language sources and that he was not an admiral. (non-admin closure) Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 21:08, 22 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

James Murray (admiral)Jakub Mora – Nothing in the article indicates that this subject was actually an admiral, a rank higher than a captain; however, rather than move to a different disambiguator, I think it would be cleanest to move this to the name the subject was known by during his period of notable activities. • Oppose. The name "Jakub Mora" is not used in any English source I can find. e.g. in Gbooks, "Jakub Mora" produces only 1 result, whereas "James Murray" seems to yield up quite more (exact numbers difficult, because of the commonness of the name, but just scanning through the results conditioned by Polish fleet, navy and/or Sigismund, there are plenty about this particular James Murray). If admiral sticks in the craw, then move it to "James Murray (shipbuilder)" or "James Murray (Polish navy)" would do. Walrasiad (talk) 07:56, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Move to James Murray (Polish navy) per Walrasiad. The name Jakub Mora doesn't seem to have sufficient English usage, but I think it does seem sensible to avoid the word "admiral", as Murray doesn't seem to have reached that level of command.
