Accident[edit]

I'm assuming that when Jamel and his friend were hit by the train, they were in a car. If this is indeed the case that section of the article should be re-written to better reflect this. It is too vague at the moment.N^O^el (talk) 05:57, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, what happened was this: At the Trappes train station, Jamel Debbouze and his friend decided to get off the train they were in on the wrong side, jumping on the tracks instead of going on the platform. A train was approaching from the opposite direction, and both boys were hit by it. Jamel lost his hand, his friend lost his life. The parents of said friends have always said that the death of their son was no accident, and still hold Jamel responsible. 82.120.140.10 (talk) 11:54, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Gérard Morvan[reply]

Jamel is not an amputee[edit]

In the DVD extra of Astérix & Obélix Mission Cléopâtre from 2002, one can clearly see that Jamel still has both of his arms attached to his body. The definition of amputation is "the removal of a body extremity by trauma or surgery." (See Amputation.) So unless some other body extremity is missing from his body after 2002, his bio should not be tagged as Amputee. Pascal 22:29, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, Jamel fits the definition of amputee. In the famous train accident, he lost his hand.82.120.140.10 (talk) 11:49, 25 July 2011 (UTC)Gérard Morvan[reply]

Similarities between the acting of Jamel Debbouze and the late Mexican comic actor Mario Moreno (Cantinflas).[edit]

Having recently seen Jamel Debbouze in Angel A at Sundance '07, it startled me to see the similarities between his acting and that of the late Mexican comic actor Mario Moreno (Cantinflas). Shlegler 22:58, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Manslaughter?[edit]

The guy gets hit by a train, and then gets charged with manslaughter? Or was someone else charged? And why?

I deleted manslaughter reference altogether because it does not make any sense as written, and the English-language link did not have any information on it, and the French-languiage link was of course totally fucking useless for anyone who doesn't speak French.

It would be nice to know more about the accident, and I wish the original contributor had not been so damn lazy with the composition and the references.

In fact, Djamel was charged with manslaughter vbecause the parents of the dead boy thouhgt (and still think) that Djamel had pushed their son on the path of the oncoming train. --82.124.76.143 (talk) 06:51, 10 June 2012 (UTC)Gérard Morvan[reply]
