Player history

2012 – Played for Lytham Y.M.C.A at the age of 11

2012 - Scouted by Jamie Milligan and signed for Blackpool FC Academy until 2017

2017 - Lytham LSA player of the year

2017 - Joined AFC Fylde’s Academy after being contacted by the Academy Head within days of leaving Blackpool FC

2019 - Lancashire Boys. Played in the 2019 National Finals at Stoke City FC which saw Lancashire winning the final

2019 - Played in the Lancashire U18’s Final with AFC Fylde against Southport FC which saw Fylde lifting the trophy

2019/20 – Loaned out to Witton Albion FC for a successful period

2020 - Signed his first professional contract with AFC Fylde

2021 - Sent out on loan to Barnoldswick FC

2021/22 – Sent out on loan to Kendal FC. Jack wore the Captains armband in his last appearance in January 2022

May 2022 - Signed a new 12 month contract with AFC Fylde

Blackpool Gazette - Jack Byrne a tall, athletic central defender – has progressed through the club’s academy system, and caught Jim Bentley’s eye with his consistent performances for the U18’s last season. Byrne played an integral role in the Under 18’s 2019/20 Lancashire County Cup triumph, in which he formed a solid defensive partnership alongside fellow youngster James Stanley.

When discussing Jack’s professional contract Conrad Prendergast, AFC Fylde’s Youth Team manager, told afcfylde.co.uk: “I am made up for Jack. He’s worked tirelessly to improve his game over the last couple of years, and his performances with us were always top notch.
