Fair use rationale for Image:JBL.jpg[edit]

Image:JBL.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:08, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted vandalism[edit]

I've just reverted a vandalism. It appears that some anons contribs (oops, like me :P) just used the JBL page as their personal message board! (at least, I sign me comments)89.136.41.31 (talk) 09:53, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Apass[reply]

Public Company?[edit]

Is JBL a publicly traded company? In either case, I believe it should state such in the information box on the right side of the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.199.113.40 (talk) 05:57, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suicide/beneficiary suggests...?[edit]

I am not particularly well versed in the details of his death and the life insurance policy's terms, but the way it's written rather suggests something, well, nefarious about the whole thing. Unless an investigation took place that revealed his naming the company as beneficiary, or more specifically, that it figured in the decision to take his own life, I don't think it's appropriate to make the implication- even though on the surface it seems obvious he could have done so. Does this make sense, or am I making much ado about nothing? Batvette (talk) 10:37, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

JBL wrestler[edit]

May I make a suggestion, some people may search "JBL" looking for the wrestler so could we put a link on top of the page saying if you're looking for the wrestler then click that link? 58.173.126.92 (talk) 12:24, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there's already a note sending the reader to JBL (disambiguation), where John Layfield the wrestler is listed. I think it should stay the way it is now. Binksternet (talk) 12:46, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

External links[edit]

The relevant guideline here is WP:EL. Please note WP:ELBURDEN requires consensus for restoring any links.

The sourcing seems to be lacking, so clarification is requested: JBL is a company within Harmon. Within JBL is the JBL Professional division and product line. Correct?

We currently have two JBL links in the External links section, jbl.com and jblpro.com. Since the link to jblpro.com is accessible from jbl.com, why the need for both? Is there encyclopedic company/division information that we want to highlight? Following ELMINOFFICIAL, jbl.com seems the only official link that should be included. --Ronz (talk) 01:02, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

JBL is a company within Harman, with an a. JBL has two distinct divisions that market products to distinctly different markets. The consumer division (jbl.com) sells things like headphones, home theater speakers, car speakers, etc. The professional division (jblpro.com) sells commercial speakers for touring rigs, installed sound in large commercial venues like concert halls or football stadiums, speakers for movie theaters, etc. They are practically two different companies, and JBL thinks they are separate enough to warrant separate websites. jblpro.com is not prominently linked from jbl.com, it takes some hunting and a minimum of two clicks to get from jbl.com to jblpro.com by clicking links. It is more than worthwhile to have both links available in the article for readers. ‑Scottywong| confer _ 16:17, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yet we have one article for the two, and we barely mention the second in the article. When applying ELMINOFFICIAL, I tend to just having a single official site in general, but this isn't as cut-and-dry as I'd like. Given the promotional nature of both, I think we can do with just one. If there are webpages about the individual divisions with encyclopedic content, we should consider those.
Take it to WP:ELN if you like. Per ELBURDEN it should remain out until there's consensus for inclusion. --Ronz (talk) 16:40, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

About content[edit]

Is there any else changes to be done . Vegabott29 (talk) 06:59, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe that JBL's private factory was located at "2439 Fletcher Drive, Los Angeles" as stated in the article. Around 1961, I was a friend of Chris Thomas, son of the owner at the time and we visited the factory a few times on weekends. I don't know the factory's address, but I believe it was on a street perpendicular to Fletcher Drive and east of Fletcher Drive, possibly Ripple Street.
