Cast list[edit]

I think the Cast list should be a standard list. I see no need and no benefit to using an unnecessary table.

"WP:CASTLIST" was given as an edit summary but it is not a clear edit summary. I am familiar with project film guidelines and have seen different ways of doing a cast list. Some articles that do not include a cast list but those good articles present the information as prose in the Casting section. I don't have any problem with Casting section that is full of prose and that is good enough to make the Cast list unnecessary but I do object to using a table when a list will do. If you want to improve the casting section so that a Cast section is not needed then please do.

Also not only was my change to the cast list reverted, but all my other changes were reverted too without proper explanation. It shows a lack of WP:GOODFAITH to delete an alternative image description that helps make Wikipedia more accessible to users with different needs. No attempt was made to discuss or explain why anyone would be against including a WP:ALT alternate image description. Disagreeing with one edit is not an excuse to remove all three edits without discussion, again for a second time. No good faith effort was made to keep any part of my other unreleated edits so I have reverted.

A good enough reason has not been given for removing the cast list (edit dated Sept 4, 2018) by User:Ribbet32 with the a terse edit summary "redundant, WP:CASTLIST". It was a bold edit, I reverted, please discuss. -- 109.77.254.155 (talk) 18:09, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CASTLIST "The structure of the article may also influence form. A basic cast list in a "Cast" section is appropriate for the majority of Stub-class articles."

This is not a stub-class article, nor remotely close to one.

"When the article is in an advanced stage of development, information about the cast can be presented in other ways: a table or infobox grouping actors and their roles may be placed in the plot summary or in the "Casting" subsection of a "Production" section. Use tables with care due to their complexity; they are most appropriate for developed, stable articles.

This is an advanced article and your edits are becoming increasingly disruptive. The tables aren't only used in some GAs as you claimed; the guideline doesn't mention GA or FA standards being required. Ribbet32 (talk) 18:56, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You think this article is "advanced" and "developed"?

A list is simple, a table is less simple. The guidelines say advance articles can (not should) use a table but you haven't shown any good reason why a table is required in this article.

You have only talked about the cast list, you haven't explained why your reverted my other edits, and despite my asking twice you haven't made any effort to keep even a small part of the reasonable changes I made such as adding an image description. Accusing me here of disruptive editing and [[User_talk:109.77.254.155|on my talk page of edit warring] is entirely unwarranted.

Answering 3o request. I don’t see a problem with a table and lean towards a table being the appropriate way to list the cast based on the reasons already given. Regarding the alt description I don’t think it is entirely clear. One of the main uses for an alternate description is to describe the image to blind readers using Braille tablets. If you were to add a phrase that made it clear that it is a movie poster I wouldn’t see a problem with it. ^†Basilosauridae ❯❯❯Talk 19:30, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
