Conflict of interest[edit]

This article was drafted by an employee of Avicenna and submitted to Wikipedia's WP:DYK process. Comments about this article are at its DYK review at Template:Did you know nominations/In silico clinical trials.

Avicenna is a research consortium headed by the University of Sheffield and funded with a grant from the European Union. The science is progressive but grant funded research is often considered to be conservative, and I think it is best to say that Avicenna is operating as a traditional research project with conservative university and government oversight. Wikipedia often fears WP:COI and examination of COI is appropriate in this case. In my opinion, this article is not promotion of a project or an organization, and I do not see supporting evidence to be concerned about too much bias here.

I am glad to have an expert in a field of research contributing to Wikipedia. Thanks MattAtAvicenna for developing this article and submitting it for community review at DYK. I hope that you stay around and contribute more to Wikipedia. Please do be mindful of Wikipedia's policies against promotion, which you can read at Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Overall, I appreciate the interest you have in public education and outreach and would appreciate you telling others to contribute to Wikipedia with as much mindfulness about focusing on general science and education and avoiding the promotion of particular products, projects, and organizations.

I am removing the problem banners from the article pending anyone posting here to say why they are justified to be used here. Blue Rasberry (talk) 14:50, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
