Proposed merger with Quota share[edit]

I'm confused.... is this a proposal to merge the article with itself?!?Mgunn 23:26, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would have to vote "Nay". Because the disambig page Quota lists so many other "quotas" and it seems like branching off articles per industry makes sense. --Emana 00:40, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think I've ever heard a trade quota referred to as a "quota share." I think that's just more confusing.Mgunn 05:54, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have merged Import quota into Quota share because a little section of each quota will be in teh article Quota share. The page may be moved to the name Quota after the related pages and stuff is cleaned up. FirefoxRocks 19:03, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yor merge is reverted. It is inadmissible to merge totally different topics into a single article. Especially whet several people tell you don't. Next time don't do any drastic changes wthout waiting several says for many people express opinion. By the way, you never announced that you age going to merge racial quota into the same barrel as well. I would strongly suggest you to edit things which you are familiar with. `'mikkanarxi 23:29, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Domestic economy loses areas G and H (quota rents)??[edit]

Domestic economy does not have to lose this area (quota rents) at all. It all depends on how they administer the quota. If they auction the quota or give it to domestic importers, it stays in the country. Economy can lose that sector only if they give the quota rights away to foreigners.

This article also totally ignores different small and large country cases. --Svetovid 20:48, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can you revise economic analysis, please? It's wrong. Thanks. 88.16.183.191 (talk) 14:10, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What does WTO say about quota?[edit]

WTO restricts the use of import quota since it is one of trade instruments that incline highest level of protectionism. Countries can only set import quota for special reasons, such as to protect national security, human and animals health,... 1betterworld (talk) 15:59, 24 February 2011 (UTC)1betterworld[reply]

Automobile Quotas History Since 1981[edit]

The article and the talk page seem to be deficient in real world examples. In USA the Automobile industry should be the most visible topic in discussion of quotas, but is not mentioned in the article or elsewhere in talk. In 35 years of experience the foreign manufacturers chose to build and operate factories in USA with little increase in cost or price. The result is that autos, components and spare parts are some of the outstanding employers of factory workers in USA.

This article needs to have a more balanced view with benefits discussed along with disadvantages. Astrojed (talk) 01:07, 26 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
