Hello! Great job researching for your article! I'm concerned that the organization is hard to understand - the headers for the different levels of subsections are too similar. Is there a way you could rearrange it with fewer layers of subsections?

Also, don't forget to check for typos and grammar errors. I noticed a few when I was reading (like "...affect the activity of cartels in an individual country..." --> in that individual country). Why is that relevant to the article? And where precisely? The amount is bound to vary form country to country, which itself is a good reason not to include this info, even with a source♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 00:18, 29 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm assuming good faith here. I'm thinking that the historical "street value" (per kg, or whatever) in NYC or LA would be useful, over time, demonstrate the success or lack of same of various governments to interdict drugs. These should be drugs that are or were commonly used. Some drugs have dropped in price because anyone can mix them up in a lab - a bit different than a law enforcement failure. We arent trying to demonstrate anything but merely reflect what good secondary sources say so we would need a source or two that show how street price varies over time in a particular place and always remembering that this is not a US themed article. We should only draw conclusions that have already been drawn by others in reliable secondary sources or we would be engaging in original research♫ SqueakBox talk contribs 21:39, 4 December 2013 (UTC)

I have removed some info that has remained too long while unsourced:

In Mexico desperate teens everywhere are struggling for even the smallest increments of money. Some teens will go as far as to accept $300 to take illegal narcotics over the US border to recipients.Drug dealers claim that, because the children are minors, they will have no problem in the event that they are caught.

This statement in the article is not supported by the reference

"An estimated $10bn of the Mexican drug cartel’s profits come from the United States, not only supplying the Mexican drug cartels with the profit necessary for survival, but also furthering America's economic dependence on drugs.[46]"

The language is confused and imprecise. The reference does not say that America is ECONOMICALLY DEPENDENT ON (Mexican Cartel Supplied) DRUGS. Certain individuals may be chemically dependent on drugs supplied by Mexican cartels, and that might possibly lead to economic dependence of the Mexican Cartels on this source of income - but that is not at all what the article actually states. this selection needs ordinary editing for precision.

Article Inquiry

I am looking for articles about how much money the US government makes from drugs(heroin, coke, crack, etc) and also articles on weather the US is allowing drugs to continue to get through the boarders in order to make money. @Jringom: Kill the Messenger (2014 film) is about Gary Webb's investigative series. As when he first published, I am inclined to believe his findings, but in order to make a balanced presentation we'd need a larger section about national-level drug smuggling from the days of the British tea trade on through to Noreiga. It does seem worth doing. But for love's sake learn wikt:borders vs. wikt:boarders, because you shot your foot badly there. Wnt (talk) 18:45, 21 May 2016 (UTC)
