What do many of the space crews in TZ episodes have in common?[edit]

They are at each others' throats for the sake of drama. It's a writing crutch. Which I hate to say, because the show's writing is so great overall. I guess when perfection is the near norm, mistakes leap out at me. By the time the Zone went off the air, it was easily researched that astronauts were by the early 60s being selected on the bases of ability to get along, and science aptitude. At least by the time they were beginning work on Apollo. I get weary of astronaut ego figuring so prominently into character development. Not much about this show is lame, but to see ex-pilots duking it out as if they're at a local Florida dive bar is certainly disappointing. As a taxpayer if nothing else!
