Expansion[edit]

I reverted back to an earlier version and added a tiny bit (plus source) to the article after the problems caused by the "eyelashes" ip. That's about the limit of my knowledge, though, so it needs some expert help. :) - Bilby (talk) 11:28, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The medical term "hypotrichosis" seems to be almost hijacked by the beauty industry - I've been seeing adds for "Latisse" which claims it cures hypotrichosis, defining it as inadequate eyelash growth. It's probably very hard to cover that use under NPOV, but perhaps some distinction could be made between the medical condition and the more vicarious use? 75.72.148.19 (talk) 01:09, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It does seem to have been hijacked, and this article has been rewritten a couple of times to emphasis the eyelashes. :) Unfortunately, I'm not what sources there are covering the companies redefinition(?) of the term. If we can dig some up, though, it may well be appropriate. - Bilby (talk) 01:34, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I just came here after seeing a Latisse ad; I think it would be good to add some mention of it's presence in the ad, if for no other reason than to inform those who search that no other source has yet been found for a connection between Hypotrichosis and this eyelash growth perscription.
