Rainfall amount image for Florence.[edit]

I have found an image for the total amount of rainfall dropped by hurricane Florence. Do you know if, by any chance, upload it to the article? Thanks. Here's the link: Hurricane Florence rainfall image 2602:306:8BB9:4E20:B8A4:FA73:37FC:7B4 (talk) 07:18, 19 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Please make your request for a new image to be uploaded to Files For Upload. Once the file has been properly uploaded, feel free to reactivate this request to have the new image used. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 12:52, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Subdivision for the Carolinas[edit]

@Destroyeraa, JavaHurricane, Hurricane Noah, Chicdat, Hurricanehink, Cyclonebiskit, I like hurricanes, and SMB99thx: thoughts on making an effects article in the Carolinas. This source claims it did $22 billion in NC alone and killed 30. And of course were destructive effects in South Carolina. Please do not WP:CONTENTFORK, we already lost Effects of Hurricane Eta in Honduras do to this, and may lose Draft: Effects of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Thank you. --HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 17:41, 20 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral because the source may have exaggerated a lot, and because, if not improved to a better quality quickly, impact articles tend to rot away. Example: Revision history of Effects of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas. 🐔 Chicdat Bawk to me! 11:03, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Chicdat: our only other option really is to condense it, and I don’t think it’s exaggerated at all. That seems just right :). HurricaneTracker495 (talk) 13:17, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Todo[edit]

  • Rewrite the Meteorological history→
    • Make sure to include sources from the advisories, as well as the TCR.
    • The last paragraph has only one source - the TCR. I'm sure there is OR.
  • Preparations need to be expanded
    • Florence is a big storm. If the preps is as much as Barry's then we have a coverage problem
  • Rewrite the impacts section
    • Should be formatted as Cape Verde and Bermuda, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Elsewhere
    • NC impacts should be expanded with NCDC
    • VA impacts should be split from elsewhere
    • Add NJ, NY, New England, and Ohio Valley impacts to Elsewhere
    • Make sure to distinguish impact from aftermath
  • Aftermath
    • Should be formatted North Carolina, South Carolina, Elsewhere, Government relief, Connection to climate change, and Retirement
    • Expand the whole section

@LightandDark2000: These are some things that we need to do to bring Florence's article up to standard (GA). ~ Destroyer🌀🌀 16:11, 23 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If appropriate, under the preparations section, could it be added that this closed down Shenandoah National Park? https://www.nps.gov/shen/learn/news/shenandoah-national-park-announces-closure-due-to-hurricane-florence.htm 12.207.51.104 (talk) 15:40, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

why exactly? 12.207.51.104 (talk) 14:21, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Re-opening edit request; no reason provided for previous declination in almost a full year. The information should be added to the preparations. 107.123.49.68 (talk) 17:09, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done – no idea why this would have been declined. The user who did so is now banned, though, so there's no way to ask. Tollens (talk) 23:50, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
