Untitled[edit]

Although very similar to the main articles it presents, I still think this subject deserves an own article. Besides, it avails a more smooth presentation of Humanitism, which has rather to do with humanity specifically and not the world population. Mikael Häggström (talk) 13:08, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why having separate[edit]

This article is very similar to the version of Humanity that went through the AfD process over a year ago. The result of the AfD was to delete the article and replace it with a disambiguation page. In March of 2008, the disambiguation was moved and a new humanity article was started. It has remained undeveloped and unsourced. I propose we delete it, so the disambiguation can be moved back to this name space.

My reason for keeping it is same as when I wrote it: Although very similar to the main articles it presents, I still think this subject deserves an own article. Mikael Häggström (talk) 16:50, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Currently, this article merely repeats information (almost word for word) that is found in the human species and human condition. When this article went through the deletion process the last time, we had a similar issue. As was discussed in the AfD, humanity has a number of distinct but significant meanings. Most of these meanings are covered by articles that already exist on Wikipedia. There may be something to be said about the concept of humanity as a whole that is not yet said in any Wikipedia article, and I am open to the creation of an article about humanity that contains unique content. I'll hold off on nominating this article for AfD to give you some time to write such an article (if you wish).Fixer1234 (talk) 00:29, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wish we human could be more selfless ...saw the news they report financial damages n the situation of people from our own country People there suffering might not have same nationality with us but they are human too... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.19.178.111 (talk) 13:09, 11 March 2011 (UTC) none of the articles listed seem to cover the sense of the total existence of humanity -- peoples, cultures, meaning of same, and the existential existence of such a cohesive historical and scientific beingness. not sure what it should be, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.169.72.186 (talk) 00:19, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

HumanityHumanity (disambiguation)Human is the primary topic for this term. Mankind and Humankind redirect there. Interstellarity (talk) 14:16, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • While it is likely the primary topic, I feel those looking for humans would just enter "human". Those that look up "humanity" are likely looking for Humanity (virtue) or Humanities. – Thjarkur (talk) 14:53, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Humanity=humans, all else pales by that. Hyperbolick (talk) 05:32, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Humanity (virtue) is a believable alternate primary topic, you'd assume that if someone was searching for humans they'd type in "human" and not "humanity".ZXCVBNM (TALK) 18:29, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
