As this is the disputed article, discussion should probably remain on this Talk page. What is missing is any verification that this subset of science fiction tropes has received significant attention by scholars. Who says parasitic organisms are the typical agent? What about ghosts and demons? The burden is on you to demonstrate this collection of trivia and plotlines is notable, and not original research. Reliable, independent sources need to discuss this topic. There are blue-skinned humanoids throughout science fiction too, but that doesn't mean "blue-skinned humanoids" merirts an encyclopedia article. --Animalparty! Notability[edit]

Nicole Sharp, I apologize that your article is undergoing the deletion process. I think it was premature on other editors' part. They are looking to see an article where its notability is evident, which means that the article has references listed and cited within the body. You state here a good argument for the topic, and to seal the deal, we should include references in the article to verify the content. At the AfD, I posted a link to a science fiction encyclopedia as seen via Google Books. It can be used as a source. Are you familiar with referencing content in Wikipedia articles? I reviewed what I've done, and I think Black and white hat symbolism in film might be the closest topic for comparison here. (I usually work on articles about individual films or lists of them.)
