Did Britain pay for the Imperial Towers???[edit]

an ambitious 3-year building program, where all material and construction costs would be borne by Great Britain.

Where did that come from? It is not cited. My research does not confirm that Great Britain paid for them but may have provided some funding.

Also see: Imperial Towers: The Imperial Towers were six of the earliest lighthouses built on Lake Huron by the Canadian government. The designation Imperial is not certain, but some historians speculate that because the towers were public construction built under the colonial administration while Canada was a self-governing colony of Britain, the name would assure at least some funding from the British Empire's Board of Trade.
