500 Years Missing[edit]

Seems to go from Romans... 923ad. The ownership of the Strathclyde Welsh and there influence on local place names (Pen y Ghent, for example) seems to be missing. Any historians happy to fill in the gaps? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7F:BA38:3F00:35A1:1F8A:8E46:D265 (talk) 14:56, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Vikings? As mentioned above , the Viking era 600-1000 seems to be missing, Lancashire has many viking artifacts, and the local population have a large proportion of viking genetics. More info here https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/-sczsteve/ Salbayeng (talk) 23:31, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Salbayeng:, all Wikipedia articles are not finished, so omissions should not come as a surprise. However, as none of our volunteers have found time to do anything about the last request over a year ago, I wouldn't hold your breath with this one. Of course there is important Viking history to be added here, but if you want it I would suggest you get involved in writing it. A note of caution on scope: the source you provide seems to deal mainly with the Wirral Peninsula which is part of Cheshire, and the original poster mentions Pen y Ghent which is of course in Yorkshire. If you opt to contribute here, I will keep an eye out and help where I can. Happy New Year! TiB chat 14:30, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
