Deleted a pic[edit]
There was a photo in place showing a small section of a window which was clearly 19th century- about 1875, and probaly the work of Heaton, Butler and Bayne. The blurb said that it was the east window of Hingham Church, and described it as very large and coming from a monastery in Germany. THose facts are indeed true; the East window of Hingham is one of the largest parish Church windows in England, and is full of German glass which might date from 1500-1600, and which was brought to England and inserted in that window in the early 19th century (or so it is thought). I haven't identified the location of that mid-19th century window. But it is clear that the person who wrote the caption was muddled, and could not tell the difference between old German glass, and very typical mid 19th century English glass.
Check out who granted charter in 1610(?)![edit]
...in 1610 the town was granted a royal charter by Queen Anne.
This needs checking there is no typo here. Anne (regnant 1702-1714) was sovereign in 1710. If the year is NOT a typo but is actually 1610 I query Anne of Denmark, the consort of King James I then reigning in 1610, would have power to issue towns charters.Cloptonson (talk) 18:51, 23 October 2021 (UTC)
