Night of the Johnstown Flood This is mentioned in the article as a song, but I always thought he was referring to them dancing on the night of the Johnstown (Pennsylvania) Flood in 1977. 66.194.50.2 (talk) 17:20, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Article talks about the song being set in "Perrineville, Ohio" - no such place exists. Perrineville is in New Jersey. The only way the song makes sense, geographically, is if the events described by the narrator occurred in Ohio and Michigan, although he is currently narrating from Perrineville NJ. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.102.149.245 (talk) 05:18, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone sort out the redirects for me please? Unless Highway Patrolman is spelt with capital H and P, it redirects to highway patrol and I can't work out how to sort it out! Ezy Rider 01:46, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The redirect of the common noun Highway patrolman to the common noun Highway patrol is appropriate and correct. Wasted Time R 22:42, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I added a note that Sean Penn's film The Indian Runner was based on the song. Brokenloon 21:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Out on the Michigan Line[edit]

The roadhouse is out on the "Michigan Line," so it is set in an unnamed state which is not Michigan. We also know it's not Ohio, because the narrator notes that the car has Ohio plates. The "Michigan Line" is apparently the Michigan County line, and Michigan County borders (or is a reasonably short distance from) Canada. The unnamed state is probably New York, which does call its state police officers "Highway Patrolmen" and which does have a county which shares its name with another state (Wyoming County.)
