It is silly to use "Les" in the title. We don't even do that for the one MS where the title in English is always in French, and very often includes the "Les" - the Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry. In this case, much less well known, the title should really use English, as most originally English sources do, I'm sure (translated sources often behave differently). Perhaps it can be moved after DYK. Note how similar German or Italian MS names are never left in the local language! Johnbod (talk) 15:17, 18 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Johnbod, I stumbled upon your comment here while browsing through Wikipedia articles about books of hours. I know your comment is almost four years old but I thought I'd take this opportunity to ask you if you don't think it would be a good idea to move it? I also find it very strange that its title is in French rather than English. Furthermore, I would like to know where you think it would be appropriate to turn with further thoughts on naming convention regarding books of hours? I noticed some capitalise the H as in "Book of Hours of X", for example. I've recently written two little articles about French books of hours but assumed in accordance with MOS:CAPS that capitalisation should be avoided if possible. I did move it, to the present title, that day. I think it should be left in French. The commonname titles usually depend on whether the book is in an Anglophone or other library, & this is in Paris. As to caps "book of hours" should not be capitalized, except in starting an article title, but proper names should be. Johnbod (talk) 14:11, 1 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
