Age at death[edit]

If his dates are 1883-1947 he can't have been 67 when he died. Bkesselman (talk) 16:13, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I changed it to 64. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:16, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Birth place[edit]

According to the 1901 UK census (for Percy House, Paddington, London), he was born in Austria - as were his younger siblings Julius, Gisella, and Adolphe (who later became known as theatre producer Ernest C. Rolls - brief article forthcoming). Their father, Edouard, was born in Russia, and their mother Irene in Hungary. Ghmyrtle (talk) 12:16, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Error in chronology[edit]

This edit introduced an error which the editor concerned is unwilling to change. At the time Darewski was 20 or younger, his brother was not Ernest C. Rolls. The brother who became Rolls was a boy of no more than 13. The previous wording (that he became Rolls, the theatre producer) is less confusing and preferable. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:11, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not confusing at all. Darewski's brother was a theatre producer. He is dead now. It happened in the past tense. "Became" would imply that his younger brother's career as a theatrical producer had a connection to Darewski, which is not supported by the article or cited in any way. Since it has nothing to do with Darewski's timeline, it is not important for this article to indicate when Darewski's brother began his career. Even for children, we use the simple past tense: "Darewski's son Reginald was a dentist". -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:13, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
