The normal form of his name, always avoided by Wikipedian savants, it seems, in favor of the more obscure, is Henry Strangeways, as in Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. The modern spelling of the name of the family, not wholly obscure in the West of England after all, is Strangways. "Strangwish" is Ficke's German mishearing, no doubt. A missed opportunity for an even more obscure title for this article would have been Enrriex Tranquaz --Wetman (talk) 19:40, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd taken my lead from the NPG article. I try not to look at ODNB until I have a 90% finished article as its too easy to commit plagiasism without having any intent. (If I look later then I have I hope a novel structure). I have seen other 19C geneologys of Strangeways who call the ancient ones "Strangwish". I'll look at ODNB and rethink.
