Talk:Havana (film),

My article about the making of the film Havana has been tagged for deletion citing Rule 7. I diagree with this unsupported opinion. It is neither "patent nonsense" or "pure vandalism" which the cited rule specifies. In fact it is neither nonsense nor vandalism of any kind at all.

It is a true story that relates, from a first hand particpant and eye-witness source, an important part of the history of this film and how it got the reputation it has acquired as a bad remake of Casablanca.

I do not see where the content of the piece in any way offends any other rule or guidline. Further, I note that although the following text does appear in the rules, they seem not to have been observed because the interference was inserted even as I was editing my typos in the first minutes after posting it:

Users nominating a page for speedy deletion should specify which criteria the page meets; it would also be considerate to notify the original author — remember, everyone was new once.

END QUOTE

NOTE: NEITHER WAS DONE.

These criteria are worded narrowly, and generally so phrased that, in most cases, reasonable editors will agree what does or does not fall under a given criterion. When there is reasonable doubt whether a page does, discussion is recommended,

NOTE: NEVER DONE.

So, based upon your own rules, I respectfully ask that the block be removed.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Joehark (talkcontribs)

Reinsertion of previous content[edit]

To anyone who noted the recent page change. I am working with the creator of the article to synthesize both sections into an article that meets wikipedia policy. Please permit us to work that out by not erasing the section after the introductory paragraph. Thanks. --Chaser (T) 00:45, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Havana imp.jpg[edit]

Image:Havana imp.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Politicians are Easy to Beat[edit]

What basis is there for including this snip of dialog as it's own section in the article? It seems inappropriate for a WP article (i.e., should anyone feel free to add their own favorite lines to a WP page about a movie?). Arbalest Mike (talk) 20:46, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
