Abandonment inaccuracy[edit]

The statement that it was abandoned after WW2 until reopening in 1999 is inaccurate. The strip was used at least in the 70s for glider ops and possibly into the 80s. TC registration lapsed at some point, but was renewed, as the airport ID used to be CCHG, then deregistered, then reregistered as CCGH, and now it's CCH2.

More research is required. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.128.28.2 (talk) 10:56, 30 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Designation as Airport[edit]

Wonder whether having only an airfield/airstrip qualifies the site as an 'airport'? I do not recall any mention of buildings at the site for the purpose of aircraft repair, storage, or navigation. Would changing airport to airfield or airstrip be more accurate? Klossoke (talk) 12:30, 19 April 2017 (UTC)klossoke[reply]

I accessed this newsreel of the occasion of a flight; Is this actually the HG airport in the beginning of the newsreel with the hanger and paved tarmac, or was this location elsewhere the start of the trip prior to reaching HG? http://www.criticalpast.com/video/65675054975_aircraft-Columbia_Captain-Boyd_navigator-Connor_NR-237_aircraft-takes-off Klossoke (talk) 13:52, 22 April 2017 (UTC)klossoke[reply]
