Given that there is no page at the primary topic, and because all terms are compound terms, I recommend that the disambiguation page be moved to the base name ('Haptic' or 'Haptics'). Snce there are two terms, and because there's a pre-existing page history at one of the options, I've opened it to discussion.

Hapticity[edit]

This has been added as part of a separate list; it should be made clear that it refers not to the sense of touch, or things that use the sense of touch for communication, but to a particular molecular 'fastening'. — Sasuke Sarutobi (talk) 17:05, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The etymology is helpful. However, the single source listed is basically a Communication Studies 100 freewrite, which, in turn, has no references of its own. Other uses of the term[edit]

I just ran into a use of "haptics" that I didn't know what was meant. From the information in this article, I now believe that it was used in the sense of "feel" (of a surface) or "hand" (of a fabric), possibly in reference to how a particular surface interacted with other things that it came into contact with. The use does not seem to be close to your related article on 'hapticity'. Revert to disambiguation page? Merge with Haptic Communication?[edit]
