Year of Birth[edit]

Most online biographies have birth year as 1887 - however no primary sources are given.

1920 U.S. Census has estimated birth year as 1888
1930 U.S. Census has estimated birth year as 1889
1942 World War II Draft Registration Card states 1888. [This is written(?) and signed by the man himself.]
Social Security Death Index states 1887. [Date presumably provided by next of kin?]
Photo of Hollywood Forever Cemetery nameplate at FindAGrave shows 1887 [Again, date presumably provided by next of kin?]

Q. So which is it?

I've gone for 1888 as Draft Registration Card has Mann's signature on it. JustWinBaby (talk) 18:56, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
