Misleading history[edit]

I do not know the history but the article says the tracks were bought from the GWR. However there is still an NR single track of the New North main line (which I think a few years ago had disconnected bits of its second track in situ). Was the NNML originally 4-track? The full or partial splitting/transfer/whatever needs to be clarified.--SilasW (talk) 11:47, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My understanding is the the NNML in the 1900s was two track, the original E&SBR to Ealing Broadway (1917) was also two track. In 1938 the GWR built two new tracks along the E&SBR as far west as North Acton junction, as was. Then in 1964 those two new tracks closed after barely 25 years of use. When North Acton was reconstructed the new eastbound platform was built partially on the trackbed of the "old" "new" tracks. But, additionally, in 1947 the Central line took over two new tracks between North Acton and Ruislip that had already been built by the GWR pre-war as part of the New Works Programme. These had always been intended for use by LU, just that the War intervened. Hope that helps! best, Sunil060902 (talk) 10:29, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the original Park Royal was way to the east, east of the Piccadilly line over bridge! I have rewritten the whole history bit! best, Sunil060902 (talk) 11:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
