Only Member National Associations (MNA's) can be members of the WTF. More appropriately, your US Han Moo Kwan Association is affiliated with Kukkiwon. --Bigzilla 05:17, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Komoodokwan link was removed as it has mis-information such as

" The Han Moo Kwan follows, very closely, the requirements of the World Taekwondo Headquarters or the Kukkiwon of South Korea for the DAN Level (Degrees of Black Belt) training and promotions. The following form sets are required for the Han Moo Kwan and U.S. Central Taekwondo Association ranking."

Han Moo Kwan does not require the Palgwe Poomsae, and has not for decades. Also, Kyo Yoon Lee is not ranked at 10th Dan, he like all the other Kwan founders, ranked at 9th Dan. 10th Dan comes only after death for those who have made great contributions.--Bigzilla 22:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with most of the above comments but there are a few items that I show inconsistency with that I would like to address:

First, the US Han Moo Kwan Association is NOT affiliated with the Kukkiwon. It is a private business located in Oklahoma. The only connection is that the owner, In Hui Won, supports the Kukkiwon and gives out both Kukkiwon and Han Moo Kwan certifications and he holds high ranks in both the Kukkiwon and Han Moo Kwan.

Second, Kyo Yoon Lee is indeed ranked as 10th Dan through the Kukkiwon, as were all of the original Kwan founders. With the passing of Jong Woo Lee there are only a few 10th Dans remaining (I believe there are now 3). K Y Lee is head of the high Dan (7th-9th Dan) test committee for the Kukkiwon and he and the rest of the committee bestow 7th-9th Dans. This is my understanding from a direct conversation I had with Kyo Yoon Lee on this subject and any of the Kukkiwon officials, such as Woon Kyu Uhm, can verify this for you if you choose to investigate it. In addition to these 10th Dans there have been a few Honorary 10th Dans given posthumously. There is a major difference between the 10th Dan kwan founders and the Honorary 10th Dans.

Scott, US Han Moo Kwan is affiliated with Kukkiwon just by the fact that the organization issues Kukkiwon Dan via it's President and continues to do so.

No living Kwan founder has ever been issued 10th Dan by Kukkiwon, according to Kukkiwon, and according to my conversations a few weeks ago in person with Grandmaster Kyo Yoon Lee himself, he holds the 9th Dan from Kukkiwon. Also, not all Kwan founders were issued 10th Dan by Kukkiwon after death (only Nam Suk Lee could be considered a Kwan fonder, even though he claimed it was Byung In Yoon who founded Chang Moo Kwan), some person who were issued 10th Dan Kukkiwon were not kwan founders. And Grandmaster Jong Woo Lee (Chong Woo Lee of Jidokwan) is still alive. Maybe you meant to say YONG WOO LEE, the founder of Jung Do Kwan, as YONG WOO LEE recently passed away.

Currently only these Taekwondo men were issued 10th Dan by Kukkiwon, and all of them after death except Un Yong Kim.

1. Nam Suk Lee (Chang Moo Kwan) 2. Byung Roh Lee (Jidokwan) 3. Chong Soo Hong (Moo Duk Kwan) 4. Il Sup Chun (Jidokwan) 5. Un Yong Kim

When I asked recently if Yong Woo Lee was issued 10th Dan, I was told it has not been decided yet. My sources for this information are: Kukkiwon; Kwan leaders Chong Woo Lee; Kyo Yoon Lee; Soon Bae Kim; Joon Ki Baek; and other seniors past and still alive.
