"12th Lady Herries of Terregles"? Is that right? There weren't really eleven ladies to hold the title before her, were there? is this the standard British title usage? User:Zoe|(talk) 22:49, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, mainly due to the fact that there's no other easy way of showing that she was the 12th holder of the title (sometimes "Lady Herries of Terregles (12th in line)" or similar is used, but it's rather cumbersome). And this is certainly not as odd as the other way round — there probably were at least eleven Ladies Herries of Terregles before her, the wives of the eleven preceding Lords Herries of Terregles, but the son of a woman created a hereditary Baroness in her own right is still called "2nd Baron Whatever" when there've certainly never been any previous Barons Whatever. OK, thanks, it just struck me as odd. :) User:Zoe|(talk) 23:11, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
