Inaccuracies[edit]

Guillermo Hernandez-Cartaya was born circa 1932 not the 20's and is currently 74 as per Federal BOP data. There may be a blending of info with that of his father Marcelo who was also a participant in World Finance and developer of Brownsville Country Club (Texas). Other facts may be inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.188.77.219 (talkcontribs)

Well, I did the best I could with those old NY Times and Miami Herald articles. But I'm not sure how to make use of your BOP data- I searched their site (which I didn't even know existed) and the listing seems ambiguous; it isn't clear whether he was 74 when he was released in 1987, or whether he is 74 right now. I would guess the former, simply because it makes the system easier, but there doesn't seem a compelling reason to choose between the 1932 and 1913 dates, since if you fudge appropriately, they are equally close to the 20's.
I've never seen his father mentioned, so any blending is completely inadvertent. And what other facts might be inaccurate? Just saying there might be other problems doesn't help me- I've exhausted the sources available to me. --maru (talk) contribs 16:44, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, scrap that whole first paragraph. I just read the BOP's FAQ: "Age: This is based on the inmate's date of birth, so it shows current age rather than age at release. If the inmate is known to be deceased, that will appear in the "Date Released" column." Never mind; anon, you were right about that. --maru (talk) contribs 16:49, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
