Ambergate line[edit]

The Ambergate, Nottingham, Boston and Eastern Junction Railway originally ran into a station at the old wharf otherwise known as Ambergate Yard until the GNR built its main line north and then past Pyewipe Junction 81.132.121.228 (talk) 10:56, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a source for that? --Redrose64 (talk) 13:48, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
"District map of the Ambergate, Nottingham & Boston, and Eastern Junction Railway, with extension and branches." Late 19th century. Lincolnshire Archives ref: 4 GL/5/6. Acc. Number: 2008/35.
Sorry I'm not quite correct here. This is what actually happened:
Fragment of the map of the proposed Ambergate, Nottingham & Boston, and Eastern Junction Railway showing the annotation regarding the history of Grantham Ambergate Yard station.
Actually, looking at the map, the original intention was not to join with the GNR at all but cross straight over and proceed to Sleaford and Grantham. Chevin (talk) 11:24, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fragment of a map of the proposed route showing the connections to Spalding and the Eastern Counties. It is clear that the junction with the Great Northern was not the final objective.
(edit conflict)OK, is this fix what was intended? BTW, Chevin: please see Talk:Grantham Ambergate Yard railway station#Article name. --Redrose64 (talk) 11:45, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
