Gate?[edit]

In the East Dorset section, does anyone know why The Minster Church of St Cuthburga in Wimborne is described as a 'Gate'? PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 22:05, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think a bot generated the entries, and made numerous errors in processing the English Heritage pages and populating the tables. There's a degree of apparent randomness in which bits of text it picked to decide type and date completed. I have found that its necessary to check each entry's EH page and there's generally something to correct (I have been ploughing through Grade II* listed buildings in West Dorset row by row, its been a very slow process). The article history shows that User:Nev1 generated the entries when they revamped the article on 8th August. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 10:31, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I shouldn't have said bot, but I think its some automated or semi-automated process. I don't know the details, just what I've come across at e.g. Wikipedia talk:UK Wikipedians' notice board#Lists of listed buildings: harmful edits Aegoceras (talk) 11:41, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The table were automatically generated and for some reason, churches are sometimes to being described as 'sundials', 'towers/bell towers', and 'gates'. That's been fixed in this list. Nev1 (talk) 21:17, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed subheaders for West Dorset[edit]

Does anyone object (or have any better idea) to splitting West Dorset's weighty section here into 4 subheaders (Locations A–C, etc) for navigability? (See Grade II* listed buildings in West Dorset). Aegoceras (talk) 10:02, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There's a possibility this wouldn't help, as it depends on readers using the contents box, and flicking back up to the top of the page for navigation. What might be better is if the different sections are hidden/hatted, so readers can expand sections as they wish. Then splitting of West Dorset might be more advantageous. North Dorset Photos[edit]

Currently, none of the 49 Grade I buildings in North Dorset have photos, yet 55 of the 85 (65%) Grade II buildings do. Does anyone have any idea why this might be? Laned130 (talk) 22:44, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. No-one's got around to doing it yet. PaleCloudedWhite (talk) 07:15, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
