I have a copy of

• Hersey, Harold (1926). Singing Rawhide: A book of Western Ballads. George H. Doran Company. A collection of 21 ballads illustrated by Jerry Delano

The phrase "Jerry Delano" did not appear on Wikipedia but a Google search found it was the same person as Gerard Curtis Delano. The book has "With Drawings by Jerry Delano" on the front cover and "With Illustrations by Jerry Delano" on the title page. While the sample size is one book I'm wondering if his WP:COMMONNAME, at least in the 1920s, was Jerry Delano. For now, I've added a redirect for Jerry Delano to this article and mention of that name in the article.

The drawings are black and white and appear to be done with a pencil or pen. http://www.meadowlarkgallery.com/DelanoGerardCurtis.htm appears to be a decent biography though unfortunately it does not cite sources. It mentions that Delano created black and white illustrations. I can't see a way to best work that into the article, particularly as I don't regard the meadowlarkgallery page as a WP:RS. --Marc Kupper|talk 19:24, 1 June 2016 (UTC)
