Content dispute over the way of formatting dates[edit]

There seems to be a dispute regarding how to format dates in the page, whether it should be "1 January 1980" (as an example) or "January 1, 1980". An IP user by the name of 62.28.64.102, I reverted citing the Manual of Style, and the IP reverted my revert.
