opening paragraph[edit]

9th largest county by area - ought the comparison to be made with present day administrative boundaries including UAs, ceremonial counties, or historic counties? The Cornish border at the Tamar is relatively stable due to treaty with Athelstan and the then king of Cornwall in 936, but the same cannot be said for other local authority areas in the United Kingdom. It may also be noted that it may be considered more appropriate to consider Cornwall in a British context, rather than an English one, since not all accept the assertion that Cornwall is part of England in other than an administrative sense Govynn (talk) 18:43, 15 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Names for Cornwall in languages other than English"[edit]

That whole section is completely irrelevant to the geography of Cornwall. As it's more along the lines of history/society/culture it should be moved into the main Cornwall article -- if we have it at all. And on that subject I think we shouldn't. We don't have an exhaustive list of translations for United Kingdom or Scotland for example. BananaBork (talk) 10:46, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Subtropical climate?[edit]

The climate is described as temperate oceanic and as having the UKs only subtropical climate areas. However there is nothing to support that statement. The climate data listed is consistent with a temperate oceanic climate, but not a sub tropical climate (i.e. Spain, California, Florida, Hawaii, Queensland) as defined in the sub tropic article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Specialistia (talk • contribs) 13:38, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

coastline distance[edit]

hi there, can't help but notice that the coastline is written as 422miles or 697km - is this supposed to be 679km as that just isn't a correct conversion — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.5.51.151 (talk) 18:27, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

We need to know whether it was measured in kilometres or miles and then converted; the Ordnance Survey prints kilometre squares on its maps; any measurement of a coastline is an approximation anyway.--Johnsoniensis (talk) 19:15, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
